This page explains what HTTP-Basma collects when you use this web application, and how that information is handled.
What we collect
- Inputs you submit. If the Save to database checkbox is selected along with any entered tags, the domain/IP addresses you fingerprint with full details are saved on Netomize’s servers and become searchable and viewable for all users via the Search and Recent tabs. Data and parameters configured within the Pacto, Demangle, and Compare tabs are transmitted to the HTTP-Basma server solely for processing. This data is transient and is not retained once the request is complete.
- Connection metadata. Your IP address and request timestamps are used for per-IP daily rate limiting. The counters reset every 24 hours and are stored only as aggregate counts.
- Theme preference, input data and options selected. Your selected color theme, input data and options selected are stored locally in your browser via
localStorage. It never leaves your device.
What we do not collect
- No tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers.
- No cross-site cookies. The only cookie is a strictly-scoped session cookie issued at sign-in.
How your queries are processed
This web app acts as a thin proxy in front of an HTTP-Basma REST API server. The backend's URL and credentials are never exposed to you. When you submit a fingerprint request, the web app validates your input, applies rate limits, and forwards the request to the backend on your behalf.
Outbound probes
When you use the "Fingerprint" endpoint, the HTTP-Basma backend will issue probe HTTP requests directly to the server/IP you specify. Those probes originate from the backend's network, not from your browser. You are responsible for only fingerprinting servers you own or have permission to test.
